The Introduction: Sea NY

New favorite brand: Sea NY. I’ve been following the brand for the last year or so and this season is my favorite thus far – simple, classic silhouettes with incredible detailing. If not for Shopbop‘s incredibly transparent COO labeling (love!) I’d assume these items were made in Europe… lucky for us, most of the line is made right here!

ABOUT THE DESIGNER:

Sea is a line of separates and dresses designed by lifelong friends Monica Paolini and Sean Monahan. Monahan launched the label in 2007, after a career in media and technology had run its course. Monica joined the brand in 2009, and together they design this accessible line of feminine, modern pieces, cut in a quietly provocative style. Sea clothing is unique and wearable, the sort of staples every city wardrobe needs.

The Introduction: Winter Session

I was recently introduced to Colorado-based Winter Session and I am loving the streamlined approach to waxed canvas… something to look out for next time I’m in Denver! winter-session

The Introduction: Veronica Beard

I fell in love with the Veronica Beard Spring 2014 collection last fall, after the the founders (and sisters-in-law!) were featured in The New York Times… The collection is finally hitting stores and is pretty incredible. I’ve been dreaming of the perfect black jumpsuit for months and this one is exactly that.

Veronica Beard is created by sisters-in law – who both happen to be named Veronica! – who are focused on the concept of simplifying high style into a uniform. I’m always a proponent of the uniform… and this is one brand that I could see myself wearing all the time. Investment pieces, yes, but they feel fresh and new while still managing to be classic.

Some favorites…

The brand is currently featured on The Fashion Fund and has a great blog… follow along:

The Introduction: ALL Knitwear

I discovered ALL Knitwear through Of a Kind and haven’t been able to make a decision as to which hat to buy… we had our first legit snow yesterday, so I guess it’s time for me to make up my mind!

FROM THE BRAND:

ALL Knitwear is a small, vertically integrated knitwear label created by Annie Larson. The slow-growing, idiosyncratic collection of handmade sweaters and hats is an ongoing study of color and pattern realized in a series of simple shapes. Each sweater is organized to show the special rapport between its visual components. Operating on a made-to-order basis, Larson knits each piece in her studio before shipping to customers all over the world.
